Maps of υR and υθ. Top panels: comparison of the velocity fields υR and υθ in the form of residuals between the simulation and the theoretical predictions in Eqs. (12) and (34): (υR,simυR,th)/υθ,circ (top left panel) and (υθ,simυθ,th)/υθ,circ (top right panel), respectively. Bottom panels: similar to top panels but subtracting a circular Keplerian velocity profile (υθ,circ) from the υR,sim and υθ,sim in order to highlight the impact on the residuals of not accounting for the eccentric nature of the disc and of pressure corrections in the radial/azimuthal motion; (υR,simυR,circ)/υθ,circ (bottom left panel), where obviously υR,circ = 0, and (υθ,simυθ,circ)/υθ,circ (bottom right panel). In the bottom right panel it can be clearly seen that the simulation azimuthal velocity υθ,sim at large radii is sub-Keplerian, as υθ,circ does not account for the pressure support term.
