Based on Fig. 2 of Qin et al. (2010). We rescaled the H2 values, which they derived from HCO+ assuming a uniform abundance, using the HCO+ abundance profile discussed in Sect. 5.1. The CH column densities in the translucent regime now follow the same correlation with H2 as derived for diffuse clouds by Sheffer et al. (2008).
