Creation of the 1D mock PSF for the axial bin 0.2 r25<x< 0.5 r25 of ESO 533-4. The top-left panel shows an axial profile that corresponds to the edge-on view of an infinitely thin disc with an exponential scale-length of (obtained from Salo et al. 2015). The axial surface-brightness profile is shown in the bottom-left panel. The vertical green lines represent the axial bins to be studied. The image in the top-left panel is convolved with the 2D PSF (top-middle), which results in the convolved image (top-right). A vertical cut (yellow line) of the convolved image at the position of the middle of the axial bin under study results in the 1D mock PSF (bottom-right).
