Set-up of the satellite orbital plane and internal spin. In a reference frame with an xy-plane coincident with the MW-disc plane and z-axis oriented as the spin of the MW-type galaxy, the spatial orientation of the satellite orbital plane is defined by two angles, θorb and φorb. The former defines the angle between the intersection of the orbital plane with the xy-plane and the x-axis (red line and area in the top panel), the latter defines the angle between the intersection of the orbital plane with the xz-plane and the x-axis (orange line and area in the bottom panel). Similarly, the angles θsat and φsat, indicating the spatial orientation of the satellite spin, can be defined (yellow and green lines and areas, respectively, in the top and bottom panels.)
