The parts of the spectrum that have been used for measuring the kurtosis are highlighted with a thick red line. Profile kurtosis is a measure of the peakiness of the profile, and so the top and bottom panels respectively represent the most double-horned and the most peaked profiles among the α.btfr galaxies.
