Spectra of the H35Cl and HF J(1−0) lines observed in comets 103P/Hartley 2 and C/2009 P1 (Garradd) on 30 October 2010 and 17 February 2012, respectively, with the HRS. The HCl and HF spectra have been smoothed to a spectral resolution of 0.96 MHz (0.46 km s-1) and 1.9 MHz (0.47 km s-1), respectively. The position of the three H35Cl hyperfine components is indicated on the H35Cl spectrum. The red curve superimposed on the HF spectrum is a Gaussian fit to the line. The horizontal axis is the Doppler velocity based on the rest frequency of the transition.
