After we derived the rotation curves for the galaxies in our sample, alternative methods to derive the rotation curves for edge-on galaxies have been published that are more objective (e.g., Kregel & van der Kruit 2004; García-Ruiz et al. 2002). Because of the intrinsic uncertainties in the derivation of the rotation curves of edge-on galaxies, and given that we do not use the rotation curve for the edge-on galaxies in our analysis, we have not rederived the rotation curves.
