The $K_{\rm s}$-band characteristic magnitude of $z\sim1.1$ galaxies is $m_{K_{\rm s}}^*=20.5$(Strazzullo et al. 2006) and we reach $m_{K_{\rm s}}^*=22.9$ ( $=m_{K_{\rm s}}^*+2.4$) with the MOIRCS-shallow catalog. We applied the same magnitude cut relative to the characteristic magnitude to the sloan catalog.
