Note that a elliptical Gaussian is probably an adequate model for type 2s rather than a ring, and the visibility curves for a Gaussian and a ring are quite similar at the low spatial frequencies before the first visibility minimum (zero) for the latter, if the Gaussian HWHM is equal to the ring radius.
