Table 1: Observed outbursts of WX Cet. Epoch of maximum (HJD-2 400 000), $V_{\rm max}$ , number of observations, decline gradient (mag d^-1), class, relevant time intervals, and references (R1 refers to visual and photographic estimates, R2 to phase-resolved photometry). The event of HJD 2431642 was probably observed at a late outburst state.
Table 2: Times of superhump maxima measured during the July 2001 and Dec. 2004 superoutbursts (HJD-2 400 000). Also given are the mean amplitudes A averaged over one night.
Table 3: Assumed binary parameter of WX Ceti and model parameter. In the EMT scenario $f_{\rm ill}$ defines the strength of enhanced mass transfer and $\langle\mbox{$R_{\rm out}$ }\rangle$ the mean outer radius which is assumed to be given by the average of r₁, r₂, and $r_{\rm max}$ in Table 1 of Paczynsky (1977). We arbitrarily assumed a rather low value of the viscosity parameter during quiescence ( $\alpha _c$ ) to reproduce the long lasting low-states.
