Table 1: Characteristics of the convection 3D simulations: $t_{\rm sim}$ is the duration of the relaxed simulations used in the present analysis, $H_{\rm p}$ is the pressure scale height at the surface, $L_{\rm h}$ the size of the box in the horizontal direction, $C_{\rm s}$ the sound speed and $t_{\rm s}$ the sound travel time across $H_{\rm p}$ . All the simulations have a spatial grid of $50\times 50 \times 82$ .
