Table 3: Photoelectric absorption results towards 4U 1850-087 (see Table 2 for the continuum emission parameters). The edge energies were fixed at 0.54, 0.71 and 0.87 keV for O, Fe and Ne, respectively. $\tau _{\rm edge}$ is the absorption depth. $N_{\rm Z}$ is the element column density (in units of 1017 cm-2) calculated using the Henke et al. (1993) cross sections. $N_{\rm H}$ is the hydrogen column density implied by $N_{\rm Z}$, in units of 1021 cm-2, assuming the ISM abundances of Wilms et al. (2000).
