Table 3: We list $f\times 10~000$ to improve the clarity of the table. $\sigma (f)$ refers to the Gaussian errors (those derived from the $\chi ^2$ curvature matrix). The average values are quoted as $\langle f \rangle \pm \sigma_1 (\sigma_2)$ (see text for details), and exclude the coadded spectra. Equivalent widths for ¹²CH⁺, $W_\lambda$ , are given in mÅ. The stars select the measurements included in the combined values of R; the selection are discussed in the text.
