Table 4: Properties of the halo C stars. Quantities l, b, R, $K_{\rm s}$, $J-K_{\rm s}$ are repeated from Table 2 for information. The colour excess E(B-V) is taken from the maps of Schlegel et al. (1998), in magnitudes, with uncertainty of the order of 0.01 mag. The quantity $M_{K_{\rm s}}$ is the $K_{\rm s}$-band absolute magnitude derived for each object, and is used to derive the distance to the Sun, d, in kpc. Uncertainties (1$\sigma $) on $M_{K_{\rm s}}$ and d are $\sim $0.3 mag and 15%, respectively. Z is the height above or below the galactic plane, in kpc. The measured heliocentric velocity $v_{\rm helio}$ is in km s-1, with uncertainty of the order of $\sim $10 km  s-1 (1$\sigma $). The last column is the same as in Table 1.
