Colour is defined as $[\lambda_i - \lambda_j] = \log(S(\lambda_i)/S(\lambda_j))$, where $S(\lambda_i)$ and  $S(\lambda_j)$ are the IRAS flux densities at wavelengths $\lambda_i$ and $\lambda_j$.
